Ocean View Games Ltd is committed to treating people fairly, respectfully and without discrimination.
We believe that different experiences, backgrounds and perspectives contribute positively to creative work and game development. We aim to create a welcoming and inclusive working environment where people are treated with dignity and have opportunities to contribute.
Our commitment applies to our employees, contractors, clients, partners and others we work with.
Ocean View Games Ltd is a video game development studio based in London and registered in England and Wales. We provide game development, porting, optimisation and co-development services to game studios and educational and corporate organisations.
We make recruitment and engagement decisions based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications and suitability for the work.
We do not tolerate unlawful discrimination, harassment or victimisation on grounds protected under the Equality Act 2010, including age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
We are committed to providing fair treatment throughout our working relationships.
Ocean View Games operates as a fully remote business and supports flexible working arrangements.
We recognise that individuals have different circumstances and needs, and we aim to provide a working environment that allows people to contribute effectively.
We consider reasonable adjustments for individuals with disabilities during recruitment and throughout their engagement with us, taking account of individual circumstances and applicable legal requirements.
We expect everyone working with Ocean View Games to treat colleagues, clients, contractors and partners with professionalism and respect.
Bullying, harassment, discrimination and other inappropriate conduct are not acceptable.
Anyone who experiences or witnesses inappropriate behaviour is encouraged to raise their concerns with the Director. Concerns will be taken seriously, handled sensitively and addressed as appropriate, without retaliation against those raising concerns in good faith.
As a game development studio, we recognise that games and interactive experiences can reach people from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and abilities.
We aim to approach characters, stories, visual design and interactive content thoughtfully, avoiding unnecessary stereotypes and considering the audiences for whom the experience is being created.
Where appropriate, we work with clients and subject-matter experts to support accurate, respectful and culturally sensitive content.
The creative direction, content and representation within each project are developed collaboratively with the client and are subject to the agreed project requirements.
We recognise the importance of making games and interactive experiences accessible to a diverse range of users.
We consider accessibility during development and work with clients to identify relevant user needs, technical considerations and potential accessibility features.
The implementation of specific accessibility standards, guidelines or features depends on the requirements, scope and technical constraints of each project.
We aim to provide practical guidance where appropriate and support clients in making informed decisions about inclusive design.
We welcome opportunities to collaborate on projects that promote inclusion, accessibility, education and positive representation.
We respect the knowledge and experiences of the people and communities that projects are intended to serve, and recognise the value of working with clients and relevant specialists to develop appropriate content.
Everyone working with Ocean View Games is expected to uphold the principles of fair treatment, respect and non-discrimination.
The Director is responsible for considering concerns raised under this policy, taking appropriate action and reviewing the policy as necessary.
We review this policy periodically and when significant changes to our business or applicable legal requirements make a review necessary.
This policy has been approved by David Edgecombe, Director, Ocean View Games Ltd.
