PixiJS & HTML5 Game Development

2D browser games and interactive experiences

Built around browser delivery

PixiJS is part of our stack for 2D HTML5 games. It gives us rendering and interaction tools for browser experiences, with gameplay and integrations built around the project.

Our PixiJS work is currently in development. We do not have a released project to share yet.

We start with your audience, content and delivery requirements: where the game will run, how players will interact with it and which browsers and devices need support.

What we plan for

2D gameplay and interaction

PixiJS provides rendering and interaction tools for sprites, text and graphics. We build the game rules, progression and interface around the experience you want players to have.

Loading and performance

Asset sizes, animation complexity and memory use affect the experience on your target devices. We agree loading and performance budgets early and check them as the game develops.

Touch, mouse and layout

Input and screen layout need to suit the intended audience. We scope touch and mouse controls, supported screen sizes and any keyboard requirements for the project.

Website integration

A game may need to sit inside an existing website or learning platform. We agree hosting, embedding, save data and integration requirements before building those connections.

Choosing the browser stack

PixiJS is an option for 2D browser projects. Existing code, game complexity, assets and hosting requirements all affect the choice. Our WebGL page covers browser delivery considerations, including Unity builds.

The official PixiJS documentation explains its rendering and interaction tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

PixiJS is a 2D rendering engine for the web. It provides tools for displaying graphics, text and animation and handling interactions. Gameplay systems and project integrations are built around it.
Not yet. Our PixiJS work is in development, and we do not currently have a released project to share.
No. We agree supported browser versions, devices, input methods and performance requirements for each project. We test against that scope; older hardware, browser restrictions and embedded environments may need a different approach.
We consider PixiJS for 2D projects built around browser delivery and website integration. An existing Unity codebase or different gameplay requirements may favour Unity. We assess the content, deployment needs and available assets before choosing an approach.
